Confetti!

HB027

Last Sunday I went to the hypermarket and saw some really interesting looking confetti sold there......I thought it would be cool to buy some for me to use for my new birthday card designs.....I finally had the chance to try them out today.

The confetti are very thin but not so fragile and I find the thickness of it similar to some type of sequins I find in the craft store. So it's easy enough to work with. I just love the wordings as it does come in a variety of colours but the balloons and stars are only available in gold colour.....but it's ok, I love them anyways.

It sparkles and shines really nicely on the card. Can't wait to use them again for another birthday card design soon! :) As you can see the card comes with a soft pink handmade envelope and is left blank on the inside for writing on personal wishes.

Happy Diwali 2008!

DC001 (NOT FOR SALE)

For the first time in my life, I have finally designed a Deepavali card this year hehehe.....it's not that big in size, just an A6 size card. Start small as they say hehehe......I chose the oil lamp as the main motif for the card......which is the symbol of light over darkness. I love the card for it's colours, sequins and it's simplicity I suppose......but the colour sure does attracts the eye. I chose those colours because they remind me of the fabrics from the Indian traditional clothes. I've seen some that uses these colour combinations before.....and I love them :). The background of the card does look like the patterns on fabrics....especially with the sequins on them....and the gold dots represents the beads.....most traditional Indian dresses incorporates lots of sequins and beads on them....so I guess I was inspired by them when designing a card for Deepavali.....

"Deep"/ "Dip" means "light of the dharma", and "avali" means "a continuous line". The more literal translation is "rows of clay lamps". Deepavali or Diwali is a major colourful festival for all Indians around the world.....and it is also a very signigficant festival for all believers of Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism. It is also commonly called as the "Festival of Light". The lights or lamps marks the triumph of good over evil....and the victory of light over darkness.

Easter bunny in basket 2

ED003

This is the 3rd design I made.......another Easter card that I had to scan. Luckily nowadays I have the digital camera and capturing the design is made easier :) This design is made using one of my tall slim cards......and the bunny is standing upright hehehe....smiling away :). Probably because of all the Easter eggs surrounding it! LOL!.......

Easter bunny in basket

ED002

Ok....this is the second Easter card design I did for my customer.......I made 3 designs for her....so I will post the other 3rd one after this heheh......this design has the bunny in the basket filled with Easter eggs and flowers all around.

Actually the hard part of making Easter cards is cutting out the Easter eggs one by one....since they are so small in size....it can get pretty tricky! I wish I had a craft punch for that! hahaha.....it would make things easier for me :)

Easter bunny

ED001

This is my first Easter day card design....... :) I made this design for my first online customer in 2007. But I didn't upload the photos on my blog that year......in fact there are a lot more designs that I have not upload yet here! hehehe!

The design that I actually made for my customer had some little changes to the Easter egg.....the Easter egg was colorful unlike the one you see here........I didn't have the time to scan the final design huhuhu......at that time, I didn't have a digital camera and most of my designs were scanned by the printer.

The Easter bunny and the eggs were hand drawn and hand cut.....didn't have any special puncher to do all that.....so everything had to be done by hand....... :).

The falling leaves....

HB023

I just got carried away with this one ;). Glued on the card 4 types of leaf....3 of the leaves were done using craft punch and one was hand drawn and cut out by hand...I just had fun pasting them on the card.... :) The card comes with a beige handmade envelope and is blank on the inside for writing on personal wishes.

A bouquet.....

W002

I had a hard time designing this card.....it was really difficult to make...half way through I almost gave up hehhehehe............ the bouquet of flowers took a lot of my time because of the sewing. I sew the beads and sequins on the white paper....and later pasted the white paper with two other layers of paper. I love the lace at the top and bottom of the card....the lace was cut out from a bigger piece of lace.....I only wanted that part of the lace for this design so I had to cut it out from the original lace itself.....and that was not an easy task to do either hehehe.......the butterfly were traced on paper using a template and later cut out by hand....

I think this card would be suitable to be given to a bride and groom on their wedding day.....to wish them all the best in their future as husband and wife.... The card is left blank for writing on personal wishes.....and comes with a soft pink handmade envelope...

Something new from an old design

MBL076

I'm loving this new card design.....it's something new that I made inspired by an old design I did some time ago....have a look at it here. The old design had 3 flowers but this one has only one main flower with lots of small flowers around it. So far I've only come up with the idea for this pink flowers....I do plan to make a new design for the brown flowers as well....

This card has no wordings in it.....left it blank for writing on personal wishes. It can be used as a Thank You card, Thinking of You card or just to say Hi card......anything that you feel it's suitable for. It also comes with a soft pink handmade envelope too :).

Embossed look....

I have been spinning my head trying to figure out an idea for this design hehehe......what happened was that I bought this really pretty paper.....a white paper with embossed vines on it....at least I think it's vines hehehe.....swirling vines.....the paper itself was already pretty....so I pretty much didn't know what to do with it....oh dear! So one day it just came to me....why not just add on some flowers to the vines...flowers of the same colour as the paper to add on some more embossed look to the paper....just to make it different! And since the decorations on the card was already full, I just tied to it a soft pink organza ribbon with a "Baby Girl" tag to it to complete the design.....and I love it! Finally I managed to make a card using this paper! Yippee! LOL!

Back to work....

16/10/2008.............As you all know.....I haven't been around lately to blog here due to the internet problem, as well as other issues that has been bothering me. But I have saved some of the dates on this blog for posting later on, as I have done for this post and also other posts that you'll be seeing published later on! Heheheh! :D It took the Telekom technicians almost a month to fix my phone line! From August 28th till September 23rd! So I had to spend time at the internet cafe whenever I can to check my mails etc etc etc....really hated that! But all that is over now and I can now have a more relaxed time in front of the PC, surfing, researching and working in the comfort of my own home....aaahhhh...bliss! Since it all pretty much happened a little before and during Ramadhan.....I managed to use the time I had to attend to my personal matters....things that needed taken care of rather urgently and also things that I have been meaning to do for quite some time now. All in all.....the time I had to myself were used in a good way.....and soon, you'll be seeing more of my work being published here....I am taking time publishing them one by one....hehehe.....so...do drop by whenever possible to check them out....thank you all!! :)

More troubles....sob sob.... :(

Dear all......I have an announcement to make....due to problems with my internet connection at home, I won't be able to entertain any orders of custom made cards until further notice. However I am able to entertain orders of cards that are available in this blog....Truly sorry guys..... I hope to have the problem solved as soon as I can..... :(

Baby stroller for baby boy

NB003

I just love the sweet combination of soft green and soft turquoise. It's so sweet! This small card was made using an A6 size card stock. It has no long wordings on the inside, just a simple "CONGRATS" stamped on the soft green paper insert inside the card. It also comes with a soft green handmade envelope. Its just perfect to give together with a gift for the new proud parents of a baby boy. I plan to give this to a friend of mine who just gave birth recently to a baby boy. :)

I have always loved to try out new things and this is definitely new for me.....I had to make my own template for the baby's stroller....I made three different parts, the handle, the bottom and top part of the stroller....then paste them together. And then added the face of the baby peeking out of the stroller hehehehe! I also made the tag with the stamped "BABY BOY" wordings on it. :)

Shiny gold squares....

Here is another similar design that I made together with the brown and blue square cards....I wanted to point out in this post that all the cards can be used either horizontally or vertically since there are no wordings made inside it.....so you are free to choose which angle you like as the design I made looks good vertically or horizontally :). One card I decorated with buttons on it and the other I replaced it with decorations of smaller squares of yellow paper.....both have small orange flowers decorated on the beige squares.....I love the colour contrast of the beige and orange paper...really pops out. :) Both comes with a handmade beige envelope.

Blue squares....

Blue squares! hehehe! Finally I could make them now....I have wanted to use those blue squares for quite sometime now but couldn't get the right blue tone card stock that I needed....but now I can! :D Below, there are 2 designs I did with similar layouts, one with buttons decorated on it and the other I decorated with a bunch of paper punch out patterns of leaves. I love them both! :) Both are of sized A6 and both have no wordings on the inside.....it can be a card for any occasion and you can write on your personal wishes inside. Both comes with a soft blue handmade envelope.

Some more brown squares....

I got here a card design that looks similar to the card design I made recently. That was a design made on a bigger sized card unlike this new one I did that is on a A6 sized card. Since many have requested that I make the button designed cards on a smaller card size, so I decided to make some this way............I designed it a bit differently by pasting a couple of small sized ribbons lined up with the straight line paper strips on each sides. The card is left blank on the inside for writing on personal wishes and it comes with a beige handmade envelope. But you can request for wordings to be printed out and pasted on the inside of the card too....no problem at all :).

MBL071

Baby's Crib....

A sweet baby crib for a sweet baby girl! :) This is my first attempt to make a paper baby crib....I used a shiny silver paper with light texture for it. I poked the paper to create a thread line pattern on the crib using a sharp needle. Wish I had a better tool to do that....well, I will think of something hehehe..... I didn't put any wordings on the front or the inside of the card.....it can be anything you like...can be custom made for you! The card has a soft pink paper insert on the inside of the card for writing on personal wishes to the proud parents and the card also comes with a soft pink handmade envelope.

Marine theme....

I couldn't be happier today....feelin' groovy :). This is because I finally managed to figure out how to design this marine themed birthday card for my dear customer. This card is indeed very very special....made for a very very special person too. This card design was really very challenging for me to do, especially since I started out as a card maker who only likes to make cards with flower motifs hehehe! If you look closely at the design here....most of the subjects (the anchor, compass, sea shells, starfish, sail boat and that red and white float, not sure what it is actually called hehehe) that I decorated on the card are exclusively made by hand.....all of them I had to hand drawn, hand cut and even did a little crochet work! The crochet chain is for the anchor....I needed some string for it that looks like chains, so I figured that it would be a good idea. Except for the buttons of course! I bought those and just pasted them on the card accordingly heheehe! I really love the idea of putting motifs in frames....so that I can simply place all the motifs I want and not have to worry about how to arrange them altogether on one page. Plus I love squares! :D This card comes with a soft blue handmade envelope and a soft blue paper insert on the inside of the card for writing on personal wishes. I really hope the person receiving this card would love this card as much as I do..... :)

Dolphin!

I am really excited to post this cute card today.....it's an order I got from my customer....she loved the owl design I made much earlier and wanted a similar design with a dolphin or a whale in the frame....so I decided a dolphin would be cute! :) The dolphin was drawn on a thick gray paper from a dolphin template I made myself and hand cut using a craft knife. I love the plastic wobbly eye! It moves when you shake it hehehe! It's so cute! I also decorated around the frame with paper shells and fishes that I hand drawn and hand cut myself. The card comes with a beige handmade envelope....and has a blue paper insert inside it for writing on personal wishes. This is a special card for a very special person. I hope that special person is thrilled to receive it! :)

HB021

Marone........

This is another card design I made with the square paper patterns decorated on it.....which is similar to the recent birthday card for men that I made in brown colour tones. I love that design so much....that I decided to make another one for women with flowers in the squares....but I didn't make any wordings for this one, so it's suitable for any occasion.....this card is made using the biggest size I have which is 13cm x 18cm. It is left blank on the inside and comes with a matching beige handmade envelope.

Buttons in squares....

I am so excited to post this design today.....especially since I haven't been posting a lot lately hehehe.....so this is pretty exciting for me. I love this new paper I got yesterday....it's yellowish brown in colour and slightly textured like most of the paper I have been using for my other designs. As you can see, this design is a continuity of the Father's Day designs that I have done before....I was so in love with the squares designs that I decided to make more of this type of technique in my future designs. I have so many coloured buttons in my collection...mostly of the same designs, just different colours....and I love playing with them in this technique....it's so fun arranging them in the squares and matching them with the papers I have available. This birthday card design would definitely be suitable for the men and boys.... :)
