I uploaded the video on my YouTube channel a little over a week ago. I've been so busy I didn't get the chance to blog about it. So here I am on the last day of 2022, blogging about it before midnight! Haha! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I must admit that this quilling tutorial is the most challenging tutorial I've ever done. Never before have I ever combined so many tutorials in one video. I almost gave up at one point. Shooting the video was tough but not as tough as making a script for the video. There were times when I just didn't know how to explain in words about how to make those vortex shapes. Now I know why some YouTubers who does craft tutorials never talk at all in their videos. They just add music and the video is done! Super easy. But I just can't do that. I always want to talk in my quilling tutorials. It would be weird if I didn't say anything.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">In the beginning I didn't plan to combine so many vortex shapes in one video. I only wanted to do one vortex shapes tutorial at a time. That would be less stress for me but I changed my mind and did them all in one video because all those vortex shapes had a similar starting method. So it would only make sense to make one video for all of them. I'm so glad that I managed to complete the video before the year ends. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I also made some quilling creations using some of the vortex shapes I taught in the video. There is just so many possibilities, so many designs can be created using these vortex shapes. I've only made a few this month. Hope to make more in future.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZCLy3Ip2Y0hsCqYMhqzjQNTjjZuWQQ69lHoTEoyWT5Dj5lOYrmEVVYxbGTLrtOGJ1_9O_VoZfTM7wl20_ksZwC-UOGOD9KUbkfW1lV9a10fOYLHvbfOXQ0vbOGQJZzXu960ruI_Tra32fuvzQQWJ2jF9HbOuJ04tIQasPDsaUZJj1hAQTzXrO1cj3NA/s1350/close%20up%20You%20are%20my%20habeebee.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; I've got a new quilling tutorial for you guys. I'm a bit late in updating about this new tutorial. I uploaded the video on my YouTube channel a few days ago. Actually I got a request to do a tutorial on this quilled star from a lady named Jenny Hand from Facebook. She found a photo of a quilled star on Pinterest, but was unable to understand the directions on how to make it because it was in a foreign language. I didn't ask her what language it was or who was the designer. My mistake there, I should have asked. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">So, since the design is something I'm familiar with, because I've done the quilling combing technique before, and it's always used to make quilling flowers, I agreed to do this tutorial for her. The only difference from the original design is the colour and that I added the plastic rhinestone to make it look prettier. I'm so glad that I managed to make the video on time for her. I wasn't feeling too well lately, so it was good to be able to help her out. Glad she enjoyed the video. Hope you guys will benefit from it as well! :)</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Do check out the video below! Thank you! :)</p>

It's been months I know. I miss sharing stuff here.Today I have something I'm excited about to share with you quilling lovers out there. Especially quilling beginners who are on a tight budget and loves to recycle stuff like me. If that's you then you would appreciate this post very much.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I do wish that I had done this years ago when I was extremely active in quilling. It would have helped me tremendously with my work. Nevertheless I'm happy that I did it now especially when I am in the process of redecorating my craft room.This quilling paper organizer would definitely stand out.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I have always been having problems storing my quilling papers. I've been keeping them in plastic casings individually according to their colour and placed them all in baskets for years now. All jumbled up together, rarely neatly arranged, no matter how hard I tried. Always looking so messy in the baskets.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">So for the past few months now, I have been collecting some empty kitchen towel tubes. They are relatively long enough for my quilling paper. I don't think that it's suitable for those really long quilling paper that one buys from craft stores. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">My quilling paper are made from A4 printing papers. Although it is a little bit longer than the tubes, it's ok because the paper will be placed mostly in the tube itself. So even though the ends of the paper will be seen coming out of the tube, a major part of it will be in it. So the ends of paper won't bend. It will be laying straight along the tube. Each tube can fit hundreds of quilling paper. So I will have enough space for all my quilling paper from now onward. Awesome! </p><p style="text-align: justify;">I made a video tutorial of how to make the organizer for the quilling paper and I uploaded the video on my YouTube channel. If you are interested to see how it's done, do check it out a the video below. I do appreciate it a lot. Thank you so much! :)</p>

I hope you are all in the best of health always. I'm back again here with another quilling tutorial. Quilling flower tutorial again to be exact. Can't seem to stop making quilling flower tutorials. Haha! I still got a few more quilling flower tutorials that I promised to make. Not sure if I can make them all this year. I guess some will be completed by next year. "Next year is actually not that too far away. I can't believe that soon it will be 2022. I didn't accomplish a lot this year due to ill health. I really hope, wish and pray that next year things will be better for me. I want to be more productive, God willing.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Actually I wanted to make this Pointy Petal flower tutorial months ago but I was worried about how to make the video as it is very difficult to explain the process. In the end I decided to do it no matter how difficult and just wing it. Glad I did it in the end. I know a lot of you out there who are interested in vortex designs as much as I am. There's so much about it to explore.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This Pointy Petal flower is actually similar to the Teardrop Swirl flower I made back in 2019. The difference is just that pointed tip on the petal, the vortex design in the petal swirls almost the same way. So I thought I had to make a tutorial to show how almost similar they are in some ways. But I think now my favourite is the Pointed Petal even though it's harder to make it compared to the Teardrop Swirl flower.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">When I made vortex design flowers back in 2019, I enjoyed making them in multiple colours. Most of the time I used 3 colours for the petals but for this Pointed Petal flower tutorial I decided to use just one colour for the petals and try to be more creative with the centre part of the flower where I can play with colours that would match the colour of the petals. The other vortex design flowers I've done before I just added a simple half pearl on it, no need to think much, very simple. So that's why I wanted to try something different this time around.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Do check out my YouTube quilling tutorial below:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><iframe frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://youtube.com/embed/OHjBhVU2Gtc" width="480"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I decided to make the Pointy Petal Flower in various colours to show you how it would look like when made in multiple colours. I think it's been about 2 months or so since I last made a quilling tutorial there and I was working on another quilling tutorial but I decided to postpone that one and do this one first since this one is connected to the previous quilling tutorial that I did last August. It has something to do with the Twisted Loops and so I thought it would be better to do this one since you guys are familiar already with the Twisted Loops now.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">So here's the story on why I decided to do this tutorial now. As you can see, there are two different Twisted Loops flower design that I made in this tutorial and the blue one was inspired by a quiller I follow on Instagram by the name of <b><a href="https://www.instagram.com/hexiaoxiao57/?hl=en" target="_blank">hexiaoxiao57</a>. </b>Her flower design is absolutely beautiful. I tried to make it like hers but I don't think I even came close since I used a different type of quilling paper and a different way of making the fringe flower for the Twisted Flower as well. Like I said earlier I didn't plan on making this tutorial but, I had so many requests from my Instagram followers to do it. They wanted to know how to make hexiaoxiao57's flower like the blue one you see in the photo above. Maybe because of the Twisted Loops flower I did before, so they assume I would know how to make her flower design . I got tired of explaining to them how it's done and it's not easy to explain with words, it's a lot easier to explain through a demo via video. I'm not sure why they didn't ask hexiaoxiao57 themselves on how to make the flower. I myself have asked her to make the tutorial too but till now she hasn't made one. So I thought of making my own version of it so that my followers would have an idea of how it's done. It may not be as perfect as hexiaoxiao57's flower but at least it resembles it a bit.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I came up with the idea for the other twisted loops flower design, which is the peach coloured one after I made that blue flower design a few times and I really really love it a lot. It's different because of the way I twisted the loops of the petal. You'll see what I mean after you've watched the video tutorial. I made a few of that design in many colours already. Not sure yet at the moment what I'll make with them but I think I will make simple small cards with them, like Thank you cards or something like gift cards. Yes, that would be cute! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVIRgORZSmoZGlVianbce1wL0Zpp7Mgh1-YVHmUdwROAmMQWSK_B9QqBkFLIwalE0Lcr-hKI0h8OeUi-3tyH8M0aQYx0k5KwjIF52XE1ns68N690BespPsh5aXFHZZbBP3f18HJ4YE6Y9w/s1884/Quilling+flower+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Quilling+tutorial+%25283%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; I'm just lazy as well to make fancy center part for the flowers. So I just made simple ones, Ha! Ha!</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Anyways, I hope you'll like the tutorial once you've watched it and give the flowers a try. We are celebrating our 64th year of independence. I just had to make something for Merdeka day and thought of making this flower to commemorate this day.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">This will be a short blog about the Twisted Loops Quilling Flower I made today using the colours of our Malaysian flag. I didn't know how it will turn out when I got the idea to use this design to make the flower, but I knew that I would need 4 different colour paper to make this flower and coincidentally the Malaysian flag does have 4 colours! So immediately I started working on it. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">I chose the white, yellow and red to be on the inside of the petal because those three colours do look good together and have that dark blue colour paper to wrap the three colours to complete the petal. And since this is not a real flower anyways, the colours of the leaves need not be green, so I decided to use the same milk coffee colour as the stem and leaves.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Hope you like it! ;)</p>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-70982305024873152532021-08-06T15:14:00.004+08:002021-09-03T11:17:45.215+08:00Twisted Loops Quilling Flower Tutorial<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQcagYPJI7cmWl0xybWSfSrUyy3zHybJMSK-ULSuOMd9tOol3VXFRRpi_-cyQ2lyiI603DuX6JQVU9Ykn-f7yz5W6JBs16znTHPgnp1Z4uMRTYc8P8BsDFqpW44cKX8Dg3h7VLXvmlyKeQ/s2048/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+flower+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQcagYPJI7cmWl0xybWSfSrUyy3zHybJMSK-ULSuOMd9tOol3VXFRRpi_-cyQ2lyiI603DuX6JQVU9Ykn-f7yz5W6JBs16znTHPgnp1Z4uMRTYc8P8BsDFqpW44cKX8Dg3h7VLXvmlyKeQ/w360-h640/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+flower+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><br /><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzZ5B31lpSG9GMtwlFMxaZsmuo3QWWz83Q9hFrKyy7B0f9JnfvP8SYnS0rs-LuiGFReYPtmqtYMyhQQAXp5Vwsl5JKu_gsXoP-M6LsFZ3Ja5yzfDXtoJnABK539CAozi-rtb1uXDhoN3Xi/s2048/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+flower+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzZ5B31lpSG9GMtwlFMxaZsmuo3QWWz83Q9hFrKyy7B0f9JnfvP8SYnS0rs-LuiGFReYPtmqtYMyhQQAXp5Vwsl5JKu_gsXoP-M6LsFZ3Ja5yzfDXtoJnABK539CAozi-rtb1uXDhoN3Xi/w640-h640/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+flower+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKI87AnokHdyaBtYioolpRxsmAvigevmSikkCDUy_MyySu749F9am6vJLNo_Eipk7ZS5OKeI_M5c8-GSIe9oMXagC5uK21ke28nGdiZRCSQQU5bCv6fudUkJO3SviEhyphenhyphen0iDTcwfnRIHtqI/s2048/Twisted+loops+flower+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKI87AnokHdyaBtYioolpRxsmAvigevmSikkCDUy_MyySu749F9am6vJLNo_Eipk7ZS5OKeI_M5c8-GSIe9oMXagC5uK21ke28nGdiZRCSQQU5bCv6fudUkJO3SviEhyphenhyphen0iDTcwfnRIHtqI/w640-h640/Twisted+loops+flower+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>Hello everyone!</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I have been "away" for quite a long time and some might think I was on "holiday" so to speak when in actual fact I've been extremely busy with a whole lot of work to do even though I'm just at home. During this awful pandemic, I have been spending a lot of time at home. I do most of everything online now. I did a lot of gardening as well for a year and now I stopped concentrating too much on that and focusing more on my craft work. Not that I didn't care about it before but this pandemic sort of made me lose my mood for it. I just didn't feel like doing any handmade cards or quilling or anything crafty for months. I was worried that I might lose complete interest in it but fortunately I came around.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I really really miss quilling the most and miss making handmade cards and other craft in my little craft room. I can't count how many times I went to my craft room and wished that I have the time to sit and create something there. It's only recently last month that I was able to do it. Alhamdulillah. So you see, not only did I didn't have the mood but I also didn't have the time for it. There is something lost and something gained during this pandemic, that's for sure. I have learned a lot through this tough times.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">When I was able to get back to crafting again, I thought of what to make and it occurred to me that there are some of my old quilling designs that I made years ago which I felt I needed to explore more. So I went back to search of what I did before that I could do more with. One was the <b>Twisted Quilling Leaf</b>. I did a video tutorial on that one and it's on my YouTube channel, which you can view the tutorial by clicking at the link --> <b><a href="https://youtu.be/w_X-gRmYLyw" target="_blank">HERE.</a> </b>I've never made a flower design with this Twisted Quilling Leaf so I thought why not I give it a try.</p><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilCpRU_zS8ACnqA45nKQxXb-3LuFMv79fxomUGnYI9_8Nt8vqFhnaOr8NvKi1Hh7UT7p8rEHCD8K0hi2ftufPD9vZEOSl9zUO1pWdOps6jHAEfcV7UhGE6Op-2GEsN07L7hpGGdhO3DbzU/s1620/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1620" data-original-width="1296" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilCpRU_zS8ACnqA45nKQxXb-3LuFMv79fxomUGnYI9_8Nt8vqFhnaOr8NvKi1Hh7UT7p8rEHCD8K0hi2ftufPD9vZEOSl9zUO1pWdOps6jHAEfcV7UhGE6Op-2GEsN07L7hpGGdhO3DbzU/w512-h640/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" width="512" /></a></div></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAZA__FkAljvyANGUpbdPUJ5uIJ9TrCmg1Pm981nBs_atWzuc63vuknY6IyEnFUAF1z5fK1aufo9BuUFQOPk3uhYn20FnQqh7F4m4aa6WfDRzVNrdrPwTyNh1cK9UnOJLZO8FlxPhCACYy/s1621/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+1.jpg" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1621" data-original-width="1296" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAZA__FkAljvyANGUpbdPUJ5uIJ9TrCmg1Pm981nBs_atWzuc63vuknY6IyEnFUAF1z5fK1aufo9BuUFQOPk3uhYn20FnQqh7F4m4aa6WfDRzVNrdrPwTyNh1cK9UnOJLZO8FlxPhCACYy/w512-h640/Twisted+loops+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+1.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><p style="text-align: justify;">If you have watched my Twisted Quilling Leaf video, you will see that I used 3 different colour quilling paper to make the leaf, so it's multicoloured. So for the quilling flower, I used 3 different colour quilling paper as well. The difference as you can see is that I wrapped each piece of the petals, which I didn't do for the leaf design. So that's the difference. This way, the petals look neater wrapped up with another piece of quilling paper. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">As usual I used shredded A4 papers to make the flowers. I prefer to use this type of paper especially when I want to make tutorials. Because not a lot of people can afford to buy standard quilling papers and some might have problems getting them as well at their hometown. So using shredded coloured printing papers are always the best choice.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxgrLcFew0Y8frhGvPrAvwqXyNGx4HmTFOP9B2KJANvPXwicVHzVtAMdYjJsqU_AbuXxlsRXL4dGetcUplLly_9N5JpujV6-BImgCuWI1fkpIlcqLxwT0fTzvJ0pJD5UBSVIN_f-tPhcGz/s2048/Quilling+leaves+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1152" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxgrLcFew0Y8frhGvPrAvwqXyNGx4HmTFOP9B2KJANvPXwicVHzVtAMdYjJsqU_AbuXxlsRXL4dGetcUplLly_9N5JpujV6-BImgCuWI1fkpIlcqLxwT0fTzvJ0pJD5UBSVIN_f-tPhcGz/w360-h640/Quilling+leaves+%252B+Quilling+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" width="360" /></a></div><p style="text-align: justify;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: justify;">I have prepared a video tutorial on how to make this flower so that you can make them too. It's very easy to make especially for quilling beginners. Do check it out by clicking at the link --> <b><a href="https://youtu.be/RkFj-AIt-w4" target="_blank">HERE</a></b>. Hope you'll enjoy it! Thank you! :) I also made a simple quilling leaf tutorial at the end of the video for quilling beginners. Just a simple two tone quilling leaf that goes well with the flower.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">In the video I did mentioned that the colour combination I chose for the flower was inspired by the BTS song BUTTER. It's so true! I can't stop listening to that song ever since it was released. I love everything about the song, the colour concept, the song itself, the melody, the lyrics, the dance steps everything! I said I was kidding about the number of petals of the flower but actually I wasn't kidding at all! LOL! Seven petals did represent the seven members of BTS. I think this is the first time I made a flower with seven petals and I love it a lot! :)</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I'm hoping to make more videos after this, preferably quilling tutorials. I already have something in mind but making a video especially a tutorial does involve a lot of time to get just one video done. It's always a struggle for me with my limited energy but I try to stay positive and have as much fun in the process. </p><p style="text-align: justify;"><b>HERE IS THE VIDEO TUTORIAL </b></p><p style="text-align: justify;">⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓</p>

text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Hello everyone!</div><div style="text-align: justify;">How is everyone doing? I'm doing good....just appreciating what I have and feeling grateful for everything good that is happening in my life right now. No complaints. So much of sadness and problems going on around the world right now, I'm just thankful for the blessing God has given me and my family.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Alhamdulillah, I finally got around to complete making my hand knit black shrug. This is the second hand knit shrug I've made. I made this one for me. The first one I made was for my Mom. I've learned a lot from my first experience knitting a shrug. So for the second one I'm more brave in designing the look that I want for my very own shrug. I'm so relieved that it's done and I can finally wear it when the weather is chilly especially when the rainy season is here. I don't have a good sweater to wear so this shrug will be handy in times of need.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Although I love the black colour, I don't think I will knit in this colour for my future knitting projects. My eyes are not as good as they used to be when I was younger so, it's been quite a challenge to knit in this colour. There were many times when I had to undo the knit and do it over and over because I wasn't sure of what I was doing. Can't see the pattern I knit clearly since it is black. I definitely prefer to knit using light coloured yarns. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6GKK1wO9ewUF1gOH5i8Wwrib7gXXk0Re43_qrCSu6VMp7O6w1-cnxZq_3xIyVbMBRQa-Q-T2Yvvf-5bk7N0rHL9iWJ4-6xETYgtkOcPYPfu7C4sLQNRK8iye1EFKtZUPNsXuwY5hNoTP5/s1079/Hand+knit+%252B+Black+yarn+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1076" data-original-width="1079" height="638" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6GKK1wO9ewUF1gOH5i8Wwrib7gXXk0Re43_qrCSu6VMp7O6w1-cnxZq_3xIyVbMBRQa-Q-T2Yvvf-5bk7N0rHL9iWJ4-6xETYgtkOcPYPfu7C4sLQNRK8iye1EFKtZUPNsXuwY5hNoTP5/w640-h638/Hand+knit+%252B+Black+yarn+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;">I started knitting this black shrug on 16th of January 2018....and finished knitting and did some crochet finishing on it around the same month and date this year. I just didn't have the time to blog or take photos of it earlier. I used a pair of metal knitting needles for this project. I do like metal but bamboo needles are always my favourite. It's so smooth and easy to knit. I find that using these long metal needles are such a challenge for me. I still prefer the bamboo circular knitting needles. Easier to manage and does not hurt my hands.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYBJiY8kFudNK8_Vs1LwZUQuZfJ0l6N3fzbfz3JIEURsAZdmvPkswnFwYTzyj0E1TAjI9-u68xP8iL1WNGukXXv_cQixQ73FcVkDuJu7C3QUJC8eWuJ1Iajt1iFrTdP1Q5NEW0jgLPJnoj/s1336/Hand+knit+%252B+Black+yarn+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Shrug.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1336" data-original-width="1079" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYBJiY8kFudNK8_Vs1LwZUQuZfJ0l6N3fzbfz3JIEURsAZdmvPkswnFwYTzyj0E1TAjI9-u68xP8iL1WNGukXXv_cQixQ73FcVkDuJu7C3QUJC8eWuJ1Iajt1iFrTdP1Q5NEW0jgLPJnoj/w516-h640/Hand+knit+%252B+Black+yarn+%252B+Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Shrug.jpg" width="516" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiR7IOpJaoPlHZ1_fJmmdWM_e61Fq6OiCgBy_q39pmN8fvKs8h3QMPZL0yJbCGiokzSHl0EwFbtwliH3nJLtU_d925dpU165gzG2opmNLhUnib46MiNQ1rlR8vOyVp0mjekttMvZWE-CeS/s2048/Hand+knit+%252B+Stormy+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiR7IOpJaoPlHZ1_fJmmdWM_e61Fq6OiCgBy_q39pmN8fvKs8h3QMPZL0yJbCGiokzSHl0EwFbtwliH3nJLtU_d925dpU165gzG2opmNLhUnib46MiNQ1rlR8vOyVp0mjekttMvZWE-CeS/w480-h640/Hand+knit+%252B+Stormy+%252B+Azlina+Abdul.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: justify;">I wish I had taken more photos of me knitting this shrug in the beginning. Didn't think it was important back then but now it is. The shrug itself does have flaws. Can't help it. I'm a beginner. I make mistakes. I'm just not good at repairing my mistakes sometimes. Soon, with more practice I believe I will be better at what I do and will not have a lot of problems knitting big projects. Practice is key.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I have a plan to crochet a cardigan this year. I've always wanted to do that. Researched about how to do it about a year ago, so I'm pretty excited to start. A year ago, my ability to crochet was not so good, but now I have some confidence to do it. All thanks to my persistence in making those mask extenders. I've really learned a lot from making those crochet mask extenders. So glad I tried making them because it has made me improve my crochet skills. I'm happy I tried even though I wasn't good at it. :)</div></div>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-74850115647693898902020-12-31T19:15:00.004+08:002021-01-17T12:09:58.564+08:00GIVEAWAY: FREE Crochet face mask extenders<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk87lDBtl-8WDfLJV6ys9Mdzy0Q-aLYYcCG3VeSeGZc5cbYQuf6KVP7uyQKYguaQS-ckqxdMTVy2WHOvbLj9x9vxj_C6apQAZM8CWAsNfw52sAP_oIWaFWRUXQOXIXtM2AhSQ9V6IionjM/s1317/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25283%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1317" data-original-width="1079" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk87lDBtl-8WDfLJV6ys9Mdzy0Q-aLYYcCG3VeSeGZc5cbYQuf6KVP7uyQKYguaQS-ckqxdMTVy2WHOvbLj9x9vxj_C6apQAZM8CWAsNfw52sAP_oIWaFWRUXQOXIXtM2AhSQ9V6IionjM/w524-h640/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25283%2529.jpg" width="524" /></a></div><br /><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoqzSsXoOvBLUGF5taFhJSL4xA4hZvJHXzz4zEJ1YF8lb436Pdsy74RIEkwETDXnqYmSbltisZRzFe_OpmWYt8MxFASMtjO5me6Wxw6g3Xb0q15VCLJerwKcUy95AUSLxm6dqcdkcDFKfG/s1384/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25282%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1384" data-original-width="1079" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoqzSsXoOvBLUGF5taFhJSL4xA4hZvJHXzz4zEJ1YF8lb436Pdsy74RIEkwETDXnqYmSbltisZRzFe_OpmWYt8MxFASMtjO5me6Wxw6g3Xb0q15VCLJerwKcUy95AUSLxm6dqcdkcDFKfG/w498-h640/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25282%2529.jpg" width="498" /></a></div><br /><p><span style="text-align: justify;">Hello everyone!</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;">It's hard to believe that the year 2020 is coming to an end very very soon. I can't believe tomorrow is already the new year, yikes!! Time sure flies fast nowadays! I'm still in the midst of cleaning up my craft room and I found a variety of yarns....I mean a whole lot of them really. I must have been so obsessed with knitting a few years ago that I went and bought a lot of yarns to knit. Unfortunately I never got the chance to knit a lot because I was also busy with quilling and making handmade cards at the time. I can only do so much at a time. With my health situation I move really slow you know. Haha! </p><p style="text-align: justify;">Some of the yarns that I bought were meant to be used as decorations on my handmade cards. That's why there's a lot of them still available because I had big plans to use them on my handmade cards. But I haven't made any handmade cards since the pandemic and frankly speaking I'm still not able to make them and one of the reasons is because of my messy room that is still messy. Not a space available on my table to make cards. I have no idea how it got that bad really. Wait.....I forgot I'm a hoarder too. Haha! Of course there are other reasons why it's messy but hoarding is one of the reasons how it got that bad. To clear up all the years of hoarding that I did requires time. I was thinking of giving away some of the stuff that I have but not as they are now but instead in the form of a handmade craft. Make something with them and give them away. That's the plan. Sounds like a great plan but executing it again, takes time. </p><p style="text-align: justify;">So I thought of something fast and easy to do, that won't take so much of my time and energy, which I don't have a lot nowadays. One of the ideas I had was to make crochet face masks extenders. It's something I've been wanting to do since it became a trend to wear them with the face masks so that our ears won't hurt so much. I need them for myself as well because I wear a scarf and it's so hard to wear it without the extenders. I did make one with fabric before but I also wanted to crochet them. I've seen a lot of people wearing them in town when I go out grocery shopping and they are beautiful compared to the fabric ones that I made. I'm not at all great at crochet though. I'm still a beginner, still lots to learn and I think that making these crochet face masks extenders is a great way to practice crochet. It's a small project and in just a few minutes, it's done. I was able to make quite a lot of them this month in different colours but mostly they are made using the same type of yarn because this type of yarn has a clean finish. I love how they turned out.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvj2XxCHyWtha6DdMTmUbMzASCrZzvIlE2thQOwnegHA35_HXH7C5yGg1aY1E_sniWQWi8zbtddoCBw5daZ95Hc7gP3lYr2Kr996zt_8UFfHQQ5jRHIJyc2pzaCgAv4BM3uMwjYmDSc5K2/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25284%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvj2XxCHyWtha6DdMTmUbMzASCrZzvIlE2thQOwnegHA35_HXH7C5yGg1aY1E_sniWQWi8zbtddoCBw5daZ95Hc7gP3lYr2Kr996zt_8UFfHQQ5jRHIJyc2pzaCgAv4BM3uMwjYmDSc5K2/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25284%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFAx8_CMj5jPV5TiUaCQbAPI0fLnPNSqHY7q2tkGF0XM0ZNhg6xJsl58arJ4uyy1OZzNLUFnP5gjsvH4PUKRMQM-a7UREboog8zQnRotRhc-5OahrBeJF-Z_ZOjJrtZNF_h7V_GTzI2jyv/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25285%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFAx8_CMj5jPV5TiUaCQbAPI0fLnPNSqHY7q2tkGF0XM0ZNhg6xJsl58arJ4uyy1OZzNLUFnP5gjsvH4PUKRMQM-a7UREboog8zQnRotRhc-5OahrBeJF-Z_ZOjJrtZNF_h7V_GTzI2jyv/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25285%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: justify;">When I first started to crochet the mask extenders, I was super ambitious! LOL! I tried making the complicated patterns like the photos above instead of the simple ones. I should have tried the simple ones first! There's more patterns that I made but I haven't the time to take all the photos yet. Will try to upload them here later once I have added the buttons on them. I've made a lot but they are without buttons. Still searching for suitable buttons for them. In the beginning I did try to make crochet buttons as you can see from the photos above but I think I prefer buttons that are not crochet. Plastic or wood would be nice.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZFqzXyX72Vd0FeRXNcuvDroVz2apSPycXgE8LKp5hPFs7-0jbAGFp8C3B-dwG9GYLTD8Y43BhV6zEbOS2Xtv8GIGJD6GBIpKRAG9aef4__Mhd4FF45L_eoyD_jGA2B7z7LAuOcPHkcbIz/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25286%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZFqzXyX72Vd0FeRXNcuvDroVz2apSPycXgE8LKp5hPFs7-0jbAGFp8C3B-dwG9GYLTD8Y43BhV6zEbOS2Xtv8GIGJD6GBIpKRAG9aef4__Mhd4FF45L_eoyD_jGA2B7z7LAuOcPHkcbIz/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25286%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I got really excited making mask extenders with simple patterns like the photo above. I made lots of them in different colours, so now I'm in the process of finding suitable buttons for them. Searched high and low for buttons that are available in my craft room. I found some buttons that were given to me by fellow crafters, friends and some were bought some time ago. So like I said, I wanted to make something with the things I already have in my craft room. I don't want to go out and buy some more craft materials because then it would defeat the purpose or spoil the original plan which is to clear my craft room. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG5btrKVqwAoJpSKtc4P16kCF6On5Nc7T2g6SbxtJFN16ft3UwQzDYG4rgB6FcGb1_lmi5X_imFNhS_GnKqcCxjVcqB2ZsvWBIZOozYp3IgTt9WOgpzUHom9qX9KS2oScwMbcOzp464kiU/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25287%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG5btrKVqwAoJpSKtc4P16kCF6On5Nc7T2g6SbxtJFN16ft3UwQzDYG4rgB6FcGb1_lmi5X_imFNhS_GnKqcCxjVcqB2ZsvWBIZOozYp3IgTt9WOgpzUHom9qX9KS2oScwMbcOzp464kiU/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25287%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpz5fHGWCTILynyOZcH4wNRH1fBXYynL2H1hsvDT96iWsjUvkBn1a_SKCRN12yXPHuPQp1uBcplKwhMN_p_BFtjezheZ1i5G4vJpzq63CamCyVgqoYBCXmFSmruE5O2L-PLk5tkgmPeLPj/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25288%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpz5fHGWCTILynyOZcH4wNRH1fBXYynL2H1hsvDT96iWsjUvkBn1a_SKCRN12yXPHuPQp1uBcplKwhMN_p_BFtjezheZ1i5G4vJpzq63CamCyVgqoYBCXmFSmruE5O2L-PLk5tkgmPeLPj/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25288%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr9p66-d0EjoylwkJx2v9AX0dXLbwo1UpqmeQUk0LWGhLNHvLOAFOjDnq1Vl8lXVIDKKG2_yWtV33VNQbKaRy0EoDNmYkJplvBg9dDNkPace3R3ZZCUg7k3gYNbXq_-761-L-PzoidtsD9/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25289%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr9p66-d0EjoylwkJx2v9AX0dXLbwo1UpqmeQUk0LWGhLNHvLOAFOjDnq1Vl8lXVIDKKG2_yWtV33VNQbKaRy0EoDNmYkJplvBg9dDNkPace3R3ZZCUg7k3gYNbXq_-761-L-PzoidtsD9/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25289%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCVZqHZjl9PvfD_8AoA_XNEZqrrADG_DlpIi9C8cSbT4QeKewCSyMA00g-h-TSREzTOyq7SCqINIAgkQEWXcjfid6VDTUUGai8MBA_mHi7-HBlVa8TpOlbNDnxjnKp2tSYAyJNf0q7ONG1/s2048/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25281%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCVZqHZjl9PvfD_8AoA_XNEZqrrADG_DlpIi9C8cSbT4QeKewCSyMA00g-h-TSREzTOyq7SCqINIAgkQEWXcjfid6VDTUUGai8MBA_mHi7-HBlVa8TpOlbNDnxjnKp2tSYAyJNf0q7ONG1/w640-h480/Azlina+Abdul+%252B+Face+mask+extenders+%25281%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>THIS GIVEAWAY IS FOR MALAYSIANS ONLY. </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Yes, I'm so sorry! Covid 19 definitely has changed me a lot these past few months. I've been feeling really down and have not been my usual self. I really miss crafting but I just couldn't bring myself to create anything new for the past 3, 4 months.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I've been keeping myself busy growing vegetables in my garden at home instead of crafting. It seems to be a big trend around the world these days to grow your own food and I just couldn't help myself to do the same. It's good therapy as well. Since I can't go out as much as I like anymore, staying at home and spending time in the garden in the morning seems like a good idea in the beginning. Honestly I love it till now. But it did occurred to me that I needed to get back to crafting as well. I received some lovely gifts from a dear friend some time ago on my birthday this year and those gifts somehow gave me some motivation to create something again.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">I immediately got into the mood to do something creative but I had to clean up my room first because it was so dusty and messy. I've neglected it for the past few months. When I was cleaning up the mess, I stumbled upon a weaving project that I started way back in 2018. At the time I was so addicted to knitting, crochet and weaving. I did make a small weaved scarf at the time too using the same method. Then I got over ambitious and wanted to make a bigger and longer scarf. Unfortunately I didn't get to complete it back then because I was so busy doing so many things at the same time. So I decided to finish what I started. I still have one more knitting project that I started in 2018 left to complete. Not sure when I can get that one done though. But I'm glad that I manage to complete the blue weaved scarf once and for all.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">To be honest, I don't think I will be weaving another scarf anytime soon. It's so difficult to do plus it takes so much of space in my craft room. So from now on wards I would just do crochet or knitting with a loom. If I ever wanted to weave again, it will only be in smaller sizes using a small loom that I bought some time ago. That would be exciting to try. I've always love trying out new tools.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">This blue weaved scarf did not come out as nice as I expected but it's ok, as I am a beginner. I'm always glad that I did try it as it was a good experience. Anything new to try is always good for the brain. I love to challenge myself. There's definitely some flaws on the scarf which you may not be able to see clearly but I know where it is. So it's definitely not for sale, it's just for my own personal use. Weaving is very time consuming and needs a lot of patience. I'm just so relieved that it's done, haha!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGK4DTPuJ98aAMkKk8CgeFNzhRprijAXQLRqQhXwvckpL_kQ1yKpwP5HQSyr0HckHbbXBtqIwXmZY8iL7qQGIAcBJM4c4UfWy6JiTTgYfXTSiWhFXELlLwMFo-sFjB5e2dOaZOYEnwQSHV/s2048/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25282%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGK4DTPuJ98aAMkKk8CgeFNzhRprijAXQLRqQhXwvckpL_kQ1yKpwP5HQSyr0HckHbbXBtqIwXmZY8iL7qQGIAcBJM4c4UfWy6JiTTgYfXTSiWhFXELlLwMFo-sFjB5e2dOaZOYEnwQSHV/w640-h360/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25282%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmz2tI-_eip_nYfyxze6zPWvgvrA-lDEBMXX0Ege2aCxyeFQaxFt94IGvOANEysY422Ro2VJ4IZr5KudlEZ2zXoxnoszHCNbyyMSPvu8yy5_qrjuNXXYOOidqLwwFlO481H7ouyFuogXp-/s2048/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25281%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmz2tI-_eip_nYfyxze6zPWvgvrA-lDEBMXX0Ege2aCxyeFQaxFt94IGvOANEysY422Ro2VJ4IZr5KudlEZ2zXoxnoszHCNbyyMSPvu8yy5_qrjuNXXYOOidqLwwFlO481H7ouyFuogXp-/w640-h360/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25281%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg68WAkXivjF0ZW2m9tn07CyrU5cYU_C6wt7DxZGKr6iSWWonGi8w9onHxwxUVTlDJRZFNhSaYfBqd3yvGv1iLzb5jAgjtdQ4joNkRnvqbyBHHjCq4R2tn6rbejehNf8WTLYK2H_S26Spim/s2048/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25283%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg68WAkXivjF0ZW2m9tn07CyrU5cYU_C6wt7DxZGKr6iSWWonGi8w9onHxwxUVTlDJRZFNhSaYfBqd3yvGv1iLzb5jAgjtdQ4joNkRnvqbyBHHjCq4R2tn6rbejehNf8WTLYK2H_S26Spim/w640-h360/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25283%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Dtyyqyq67axCzUxW6_mrjdUe61SmYYTeTJjAD4e5JaTvEekqGo_RkAxgwwXTUO3aMPmzxDUSGEO-PRUlQMxoKrOwvIxCa_bX7EEjwBTWWZx6b3EOlFVuPp_ZVs12Rmi2Sql_vVgB7Kvd/s2048/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25284%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="2048" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Dtyyqyq67axCzUxW6_mrjdUe61SmYYTeTJjAD4e5JaTvEekqGo_RkAxgwwXTUO3aMPmzxDUSGEO-PRUlQMxoKrOwvIxCa_bX7EEjwBTWWZx6b3EOlFVuPp_ZVs12Rmi2Sql_vVgB7Kvd/w640-h360/Blue+weaved+scarf+%25284%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;">I DIY the loom that was used to make the blue weaved scarf using a long thick cardboard. It's actually two long cardboards glued together to make it really thick. I also used a lot of pearlescent plastic tip pins. Since I wanted to make a really long scarf, I had to use and weave on both sides of the cardboard. So that was not easy to do. If it was just one sided, it would have been much easier.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;">After all the weaving was done, I finished off the sides of the scarf using a crochet hook. That would be my favourite thing to do as it is the easiest, LOL! Finishing off the sides and braiding the ends of the scarf was fun. I was happy with the outcome. </span></div><div><br /></div></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;">Now that this blue scarf is done I can continue to complete other unfinished projects that I neglected some time ago. I hope I won't lose the motivation to craft again. I do miss it a lot. Thank you to all who still stick by me even though I went missing for a long time. I appreciate it a lot. Lots of love to you 😍❤️.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-71726962767954642302020-07-12T17:34:00.001+08:002020-07-12T17:34:14.831+08:00New handmade slotted quilling tool design<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg81RKAiG-R677M2pqFUyq4kiihB0kUmSo4ibx4fPz5jxny-GPpn2RTEsudI77VpG0DqBVRSXRjceac5B3VrkDNrS5DZOiq46TBR-sRVXyb2McqL5SDDaQ_7ldQBhWVy39IR0wdwX0OWRGB/s2048/IMG_20200712_150831.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg81RKAiG-R677M2pqFUyq4kiihB0kUmSo4ibx4fPz5jxny-GPpn2RTEsudI77VpG0DqBVRSXRjceac5B3VrkDNrS5DZOiq46TBR-sRVXyb2McqL5SDDaQ_7ldQBhWVy39IR0wdwX0OWRGB/w500-h375/IMG_20200712_150831.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg60ht9fOaNQTvqDgbrwOx7_38MEOuUbVh8pq2Z4pfiXqbIF6YLUDtJxYf71sGTGkj_-kPHAhT36e5L1PTJev2X5-847WsLCacBCON5Kwh-QULQ_YAgUwqAzvLD00ckmzwcd8it5-73yfy9/s2048/IMG_20200712_155211.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg60ht9fOaNQTvqDgbrwOx7_38MEOuUbVh8pq2Z4pfiXqbIF6YLUDtJxYf71sGTGkj_-kPHAhT36e5L1PTJev2X5-847WsLCacBCON5Kwh-QULQ_YAgUwqAzvLD00ckmzwcd8it5-73yfy9/w500-h375/IMG_20200712_155211.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhugq4JU-Z-GqK8Ibk4dsQUxAXADua5ord34X6y_YjWovECKL4Zo4univPf0zCvg6Jmhuaw8UNeOian3DLyWLX0QUj2QSQvUz6wtFd3Xv7SMlFBQyOgXMw4pMY-g1_MN0zJ8Pnqxzng0jUH/s2048/IMG_20200712_155340.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhugq4JU-Z-GqK8Ibk4dsQUxAXADua5ord34X6y_YjWovECKL4Zo4univPf0zCvg6Jmhuaw8UNeOian3DLyWLX0QUj2QSQvUz6wtFd3Xv7SMlFBQyOgXMw4pMY-g1_MN0zJ8Pnqxzng0jUH/w500-h375/IMG_20200712_155340.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Hello everyone! </div><div>I'm excited today to share with you something that I've been working on lately. I haven't made a handmade slotted quilling tool for quite sometime now so it's always fun, exciting and a good challenge to do it again ☺❤.</div><div><br /></div><div>Why make a new design you may ask? Well, I don't like to make the old design anymore because it's a bit pricey to prepare the materials plus it's difficult to make as well. I wanted to make a slotted quilling tool that is more affordable for everyone and not too pricey for me to make as well. </div><div><br /></div><div>To be honest, I didn't plan to make slotted quilling tools anymore but lately I've been getting orders for them so I had to think of making something new for those who requested them. </div><div><br /></div><div>Alhamdulillah today I get to share the new handmade slotted quilling tool that I made. No more rainbow colours on the tool like before, instead it's a more geometric pattern that I found that has colours which match the gold colour slot. I love it! </div><div><br /></div><div>I didn't make a lot of the tools, no mass production of it. I only make them for those who are really interested in handmade tools. I don't have a lot of time to spare to make a lot of them anyways as I am busy with other work. But if there is a lot of orders for them, I would definitely need a long time to produce them. So it's only those who appreciate handmade craft and willing to wait. ❤☺</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-69077642694960274212020-06-23T19:25:00.002+08:002020-06-23T19:31:28.291+08:00How to make multicoloured square vortex - Quilling tutorial<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-aOo0azt0UMbhXbrZ5t4gVxgH-YeetSBeoEgCQJdUKOY1OcBbputTUfv1Si39mICYESyoUv8qc_yZbwCFOtLS9Yrukns0NzhdAsOSsnFD_0_7ZxFijb6AkWlSJA0ikJsxZhgz3Bu7k9p0/s1280/GREEN+VORTEX.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1280" height="351" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-aOo0azt0UMbhXbrZ5t4gVxgH-YeetSBeoEgCQJdUKOY1OcBbputTUfv1Si39mICYESyoUv8qc_yZbwCFOtLS9Yrukns0NzhdAsOSsnFD_0_7ZxFijb6AkWlSJA0ikJsxZhgz3Bu7k9p0/w625-h351/GREEN+VORTEX.jpg" width="625" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBAm6aTpEb-ySr10v96yncXFL67slx_VVXFX9lJ10Vk7K9HsGkhMl1abui1BJZNbwiw8-Z9k3W-tl_uxCquZanpNOf1VbJnma1Bt55aYXnXnRw8i_gPQrYBpAIp_TVzKwTL-kqOQnTZ45W/s1280/SQUARE+PINK.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1280" height="351" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBAm6aTpEb-ySr10v96yncXFL67slx_VVXFX9lJ10Vk7K9HsGkhMl1abui1BJZNbwiw8-Z9k3W-tl_uxCquZanpNOf1VbJnma1Bt55aYXnXnRw8i_gPQrYBpAIp_TVzKwTL-kqOQnTZ45W/w625-h351/SQUARE+PINK.jpg" width="625" /></a></div><p></p><div style="text-align: justify;">Hello everyone!</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I know many of you are still having problems quilling multicoloured square vortex shapes. So did I years ago! LOL! On a good day I could make lots of them, but there are times when it really tests my patience and hurts my fingers! haha!</div><p></p><p></p><div style="text-align: justify;">I have to say that I thought of a new way of making the multicoloured square vortex shapes coincidentally as I was doing quilling. Been busy with other stuff lately that I have stopped quilling for a few weeks. But when I started quilling again, the idea came to mind, alhamdulillah. Such a blessing because I love the multicoloured square vortex shapes a lot. But making them can be a burden to me and to some people and I'm so happy that it's no more the case now. I can now make as many of them as I like. I'm super happy about that. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">In the video tutorial that I made back in 2016, I made the multicoloured square vortex shapes using 3mm shredded papers and I used the slotted quilling tool. In my new video tutorial, I used clean cut 5mm quilling paper that I cut by hand piece by piece and I used a flea comb instead as a tool. So it's totally different from what I did years ago. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">A lot of people have been asking me about the type of paper I used to make the multicoloured square vortex. Well, I have stated in the video tutorial the type of paper I used and most of the time it has always been A4 80gsm printing paper. I don't buy standard quilling papers for my quilling craft. I prefer to make them myself. Either I cut them piece by piece or use the manual paper shredder or the pasta machine. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Please watch the new video and see how easy it is to make the square vortex shapes. You'll be surprised! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6w75o68_DvQ" width="320" youtube-src-id="6w75o68_DvQ"></iframe></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><p></p><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div></div>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-43167308315413508922020-06-12T22:20:00.001+08:002020-06-23T19:27:20.645+08:00QUILLING MULTICOLOURED SQUARE VORTEX WITH A COMB<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6w75o68_DvQ" width="480"></iframe></div>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-78496936920339331582020-04-30T17:54:00.001+08:002020-06-23T19:28:30.577+08:00MULTICOLOUR TINY LOOPS QUILLING FLOWER | QUILLING TUTORIAL<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/B5Sw_3if7JQ" width="480"></iframe></div>Azlina Abdul http://www.blogger.com/profile/10833018667826197290noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6631181163041043378.post-79042002441394228482020-03-16T20:26:00.001+08:002020-06-23T19:29:22.630+08:00QUILLING LOVE BIRDS - QUILLING TUTORIAL<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm happy to share with you another quilling tutorial today. Been wanting to do this tutorial for years now but never got around to doing it till now. I'm so glad I finally get to do it this year! I've gotten so many requests for this tutorial from subscribers on YouTube and from followers on Instagram. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you are new to my blog you probably didn't know that I've done quilling love birds before. Way back in 2010 to be exact. Back then, the design was simpler. I did improved on it and made more as years go by. The last time I made one was in 2015 if I'm not mistaken. You can view the old posts on my quilled birds by clicking <b><a href="https://azlina-lin.blogspot.com/search/label/Quilled%20birds">HERE</a></b>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This year I wanted to improve on it even more by making it 3D and did some small changes on the shape. I planned on using the love birds as decoration on my handmade card soon. Will reveal the completed card here when it's done. Still working on the little details.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Do check out the quilling video tutorial below and make your own version of the love birds today! Thank you for watching! :)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm super duper excited to share with everyone here about this feature! I couldn't believe it at first but it's true! One of my recent YouTube video was chosen to be featured at Ann Martin's, All Things Paper's blog as one of the 10 MOST FAVOURITE QUILLING VIDEOS!! How cool is that?? The link is below, do check it out!<br />
<br />
<b><a href="https://www.allthingspaper.net/2020/03/how-to-quill-10-favorite-quilling-videos.html?m=1">https://www.allthingspaper.net/2020/03/how-to-quill-10-favorite-quilling-videos.html?m=1</a></b><br />
<br />
The video that was featured was the one about how I cut and embossed paper using the pasta machine. I never thought that one day I would get myself a pasta machine to cut paper, LOL! It's just so funny! I would never use it to make pasta though. I'm not that interested in that. All I care about is paper.<br />
<br />
Special thanks to Ann Martin for choosing me to be part of this feature. I'm truly honored to be listed. All the quilling artists who were featured with me are special in their own way but some of them are those whom I'm a huge fan of! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
So do check out the blogpost and see it for yourself especially if you are a quilling lover. You will definitely learn something new from those videos featured there :).</div>

Hello everyone!!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
New video tutorial for everyone! Been so long since I last made one, I wish I have the energy to do more. Truly. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You must be wondering why I name the flower 235 right? Well I did explain why in the video tutorial, but what the heck, I'll tell you now why I chose that name. It's simply because I used 2mm, 3mm and 5mm quilling papers to make that flower. LOL! Yes I know it's a little funny but nevermind I don't care. I made it and I'll name it whatever I want hahaha!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You'll get to learn a trick or two by watching the video as I go through step by step on how to make the flower. It's time consuming to make just one flower but the results is awesome. Do check out the video tutorial below and make lots of 235 quilling flowers today! Thank you!</div>

<br />
Hello again everyone!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Happy to share another one of my quilling + string art card series today. I still have a few more in progress with different colour combinations and arrangements. This card is filled with pink colours in the background. There's those pink polka dots layered on top of a dark pink card stock. Then there's pink flowers, pink butterflies and pink sentiments! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think this is my first time trying out this colour palette. The brown string art circle match well with pink, yellow and green. I wish I had a different type of green paper for this combo but I didn't have a lot of choice for the green paper and so the light green seemed to go well with the combo. Make do of what I have! ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really really love that Hello Sweetheart die from In Love Arts Shop! It's perfect! With tiny little hearts and all together with the sentiment! Cool! I die cut the dark pink sentiment 3 times and layered them to give it a special raised effect. Loved the results. I don't have anymore problems cutting them even though the design is a bit intricate. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another first for me is making that big 3 layer pink and beige flower. Now that I can cut 2mm, 3mm and 5mm paper on my own, I can now experiment more on combining them in a single flower. Just a simple one and I loved it. D Will definitely do more with different techniques.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The whole idea here is to try new things, and be creative, that's what ignites the fire within to craft more. I personally love to challenge myself every time so that I will always have the drive. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
Hello everyone!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm back with another quilling handmade card! After playing around and experimenting a lot with the 2mm and 5mm quilling papers that I made using the pasta machine, I finally assembled them all on a piece of card. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had sewn a Spirelli string art on a piece of a circle card and added matching seed beads that matched the quilling flowers and leaves. This type of design can be made in different colour combinations. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my first time using the polka dot stencil to make the background of the card. I really love how it turned out. The Tim Holtz's Peacock Feathers distress ink that I used to ink the polka dots on the metallic card really suits the base of the card and the quil<span style="text-align: left;">ling arrangement.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's a simple card design and not too crowded and bulky. I was happy to be able to use the die cuts that I got from In Love Arts Shop again as sentiments for the card. It is one of my favourite die cut sentiments from them. I'll be using more of it in future because it's suitable for all sorts of occasions. :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Hello everyone!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once again I'm experimenting with a new tool that could help me with my quilling crafting. This is something that I've been wanting to try since last year. I saw a few videos on YouTube that shared how we can make quilling papers using a pasta machine or a pasta maker, whatever you'd like to call it. When I first saw the video I was really shocked to see how easy it was for them to cut an A4 paper to make quilling papers of different sizes with the machine. It was really exciting to see the demo and I wished I could do the same.<br />
<br />
I only have a manual paper shredder and it only cuts 3mm paper strips. If I wanted other sizes, I would have to cut the paper with a craft knife. I do wish that there is a machine that could cut other sizes as well. That's why I wanted to try the pasta machine. So I went to searched for it in town and found a cheap one that I could try at home. I wish there was a better quality one here but I couldn't find one. In this post, I just want to do a little review on the product and share with everyone my experience using it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the beginning, I did have problems using the pasta machine as it didn't cut well and the paper strips didn't come out straight. The edges were not clean cut either. So I was a little frustrated. But I didn't give up and tried to figure out what I did wrong. After numerous tries and lots of spoiled papers, I managed to cut the paper straight enough and less paper went in the dust bin. I needed to be patient went running the paper through the machine, must slowly crank the handle. I cut the A4 paper in half and run it through one piece at a time. The best weight of paper to use is 80gsm. The thickest I've tried with the machine is 120gsm.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJp3R_Dm9iDEfk31B9zE2x-HBNZH0e6uuEmHW8te-QfqFVbqoaMPieaWuHAyNVZFOq7dkT7CvFTcOGe1iZqc0eNlwxEBYa_imCfrTTMA2PS9UjmfpxMWC63OpE5-FVxXTqWyqpJ_uFO8De/s1600/IMG_20200209_205937_603.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1440" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJp3R_Dm9iDEfk31B9zE2x-HBNZH0e6uuEmHW8te-QfqFVbqoaMPieaWuHAyNVZFOq7dkT7CvFTcOGe1iZqc0eNlwxEBYa_imCfrTTMA2PS9UjmfpxMWC63OpE5-FVxXTqWyqpJ_uFO8De/s640/IMG_20200209_205937_603.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The pasta machine that I bought could only cut 2mm and 5mm paper strips. I was happy about that especially about the 2mm strips because I've never used a paper strip that small before. I'm used to 5mm already, and I liked it too.<br />
<br />
As you can see from the photos above, I really love making those leaves using the 2mm strips. I could also make it look like a 3D leaf and yet it doesn't look so bulky. That's what I love about it! Awesome!<br />

I also made small little flowers with the 2mm strips. I really love them! They will compliment the bigger flowers really well. I've always wanted to have different quilling paper sizes for different purposes and now I can make it happen because of this machine.<br />

I cut the 5mm paper strips and made bigger sized flowers with them. It's nice to make flowers with different size strips. I'm so used to using 3mm paper strips for so many years so it was nice to be able to cut a lot of 5mm strips at one go and work with them.<br />

Another thing that you can do with the pasta machine is use it to emboss your cards or papers. But the emboss is not that deep which I actually like because sometimes there are times when I use the Big Shot machine to emboss, it pressed the embossing folders too hard and tears the paper. So the pasta machine does not tear the paper at all. Love it!<br />
<br />
All in all, I don't regret buying this machine but I don't necessarily recommend it to anyone especially if you don't have the patience and don't like rough edges on the paper strips. The machine has helped me cut the 2mm and 5mm strips that I wanted even though it does have some rough edges. I really don't mind it that much because I'm used to the rough edges already. I've been making quilling cards using shredded quilling papers with rough edges for 10 years now and it has not stopped me from being creative. Hope to make more interesting quilling shapes with the new quilling papers!<br />
<br />
Do check out the video below to see how I use the pasta machine. Thank you!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know it's a bit too early to make Ramadan cards, but why not right? Better early than late! This card was the last one I made for my craft product review video. I picked one of the few Ramadan Kareem metal cutting dies from In Love Arts Shop, and came up with this simple straight forward design. It's nice to make simple card designs once in a while.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbvuGKin-piJATBC9l8vH6PPOUZjxGPyJ9FNQnuAuYCDUSufsD-q5EK_2gBkKgM2tvWh5LXL8ag_YQ5BTgPNr1eTfcUoHJ7m79EFw4gomgVk6ALgUpy1YQgW0k2ZQ96zxk_h_pliHm8u_C/s1600/IMG20200118200703.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbvuGKin-piJATBC9l8vH6PPOUZjxGPyJ9FNQnuAuYCDUSufsD-q5EK_2gBkKgM2tvWh5LXL8ag_YQ5BTgPNr1eTfcUoHJ7m79EFw4gomgVk6ALgUpy1YQgW0k2ZQ96zxk_h_pliHm8u_C/s640/IMG20200118200703.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, here is the Ramadan Kareem metal cutting dies. There are a few dies in this set. That's why with just this set, you can straight away make a complete card with them. I just added more tiny stars and punched the corners with a corner craft punch and it's done. Just think of a suitable colour combination, arrange them in a nice angle, and that's about it! This is probably the fastest cards I completed compared to the other 4 cards I did for the craft product review. LOL! :D<br />
<br />
The sentiments are in Arabic and it says Ramadan Kareem. It's super cool to see Arabic wording dies because it's not something I commonly see or sold here. This is actually the first time I've seen anything like this, seriously. So when I found out that they are selling this, I immediately grabbed the opportunity to own one.<br />
<br />
I do plan to make more of this card when I have some free time and explore what other designs I can do with the dies. There's so many things we can do with them. I don't think I've ever sent anyone a Ramadan Kareem card before so it's great that I can do so this year. We're always so focused on Eid cards, but we rarely do much when it comes to Ramadan cards. We just focus on the 'ibadah' more during the holy month. Which is also a good thing. :)<br />
<br />
In Love Arts Shop is selling other Ramadan Kareem dies and clear stamps at their website and I plan to collect them all! One by one till I own all the designs. I can't have them all at once so I just have to be patient in collecting them :D.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I want to share with you one of the 5 handmade cards that I made for the craft products review which I did this month on YouTube. This design is mainly made using die cuts! Kinda rare for me to just use die cuts as decorations. Usually I would mix it with quilling or other types of decorations. But this one is almost 99.99% made of die cuts. </div>

The floral frame die cuts that I used for the background for the card is made using dies that I received from In Love Arts Shop. Love it so much. First time ever for me to try to blending intricate die cuts with distress ink!! I really love the effect. The die cut looks like it's blended into the card itself since I used a red distress ink to match the colour of the card. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The whole colour scheme and combinations are based on the die cut birds and roses. I really love them a lot. Too bad the shop where I bought them from don't sell them anymore. I can't even remember what year I bought them. Anyways, they are no longer in stock there. So I guess this card is a limited edition, LOL! Coz I can't make another copy of it.<br />
<br />
The stamped sentiment is also from the same clear stamp set I got from In Love Arts Shop. I hope they will stock up more clear stamps that has handwritten sentiment designs like this. They are so pretty.<br />
<br />
This card was done in just a few hours. That's why die cuts are great. It saves us time when we need to make a card in a hurry. When you already have the idea in your mind, you can make a card faster with the right materials. Easy to assemble and look fancy at the same time. ;).<br />

Hello everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm super excited to share with everyone here today about this quilling card I made. Only two out of the five cards that I made using the metal cutting dies and clear stamps that I received from <b><a href="https://inloveartshop.com/"><span style="color: red;">In Love Arts Shop</span></a></b> were made last December. The other three I made them early this month. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
For this card, I get to use two of the metal cutting dies and one of the clear stamps. I really love the metal cutting dies used for this card especially the Rectangular Frame Dies. It looks like a lattice, that's why I used it as a background for the flowers and leaves. The combination is perfect. As you can see I coloured the lattice by blending some distress ink on them. I really love the effect. It looks just like a scene in the garden. I really enjoy blending distress ink on paper nowadays with the makeup blending tool. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The quilling flowers is an old design that I made back in 2015. If you wish to learn how to make them too, just click on the play button on the video tutorial below and watch how I make them. It's super easy to make and so cute in size. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello everyone!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Finally today I get to blog about this card here. I made this card last year after I received the metal cutting dies and clear stamps from <a href="https://draft.blogger.com/Birthday%20quilling%20card!%20#quillingflowers%20#quillingcard%20#quillingcraft%20#quillingleaves%20#paperbutterfly%20#marthastewartcraftpunch%20#paperflower%20#clearstamps%20#inloveartshop%20#azlinaabdul%20#diecuts%20#cuttingdies%20#celebrateyourday%20#papercrafter%20#quillingartist%20#quillingart%20#papercrafting%20#goldbutterfly%20http://azlina-lin.blogspot.com/2020/01/celebrate-your-day-quilling-card.html"><span style="color: red;"><b>In Love Arts Shop</b></span></a>. I couldn't blog about the card until I uploaded the craft product review video on YouTube. As always I have to review all the craft products I received from In Love Arts Shop and create cards from them. I took quite some time to get all the cards done for the review. Need to make the cards faster next time. :D</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really love the Square Lace frame dies a lot! The designs are so intricate and beautiful, that's why I chose it. I didn't know I was going to have problems cutting dies like this when I first got them. I never had intricate dies like this before so it was a new experience. A good one actually. I'm actually glad that I talked about my issues with the dies in my review video because, I gained some new knowledge about how to cut intricate dies the correct way. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The clear stamps are great! They are of good quality and I didn't have any problems using them. I chose these clear stamps because their sentiments are combination of handwriting and block letters. A nice combo and the sentiments are not common like what usually see here in Malaysia. It's something new to me. So love them! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Stamping and using distress ink to colour the die cut was fun. It's also something I haven't done in a long time. During this time I found out about the makeup blend brush that a lot of people are using to blend the ink on paper. I got so excited about that blending brush because it just so happened that my distress sponge are all spoiled because they are so old. Can't use them anymore. Luckily I didn't buy new ones yet. So finding out about the blending brush was a real blessing. Not only is it cheap, it worked better than the sponge.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used the Martha Stewart butterfly craft punch to make those paper butterflies for this card. I haven't used it for my handmade cards for a long time so it was nice to use it again. I'm glad the craft punch is still working, LOL. Bought it so many years ago. I have a few more of Martha Stewart's craft punch that I haven't used in a long time. Need to check if they still function :D.<br />
